Question....

1.)What happens if let's say you lengthen your factory speaker wire that's 16 gauge to a 12 gauge wire running to your speakers? That's bad right?

2)I just bought a pair of rockford fosgate 6''1/2' component punch speakers and when i hooked them up to my jvc head unit, it sounded like crap when i turned it up, and i know these speakers a re made for loud play...What's going on?

Nothing necessarily wrong with changing the wire size. As far as the speakers sounding like crap goes, what you put in is what you get out. Feed it a crappy clipped signal and that is what they will play. Regardless of the wattage claim on the speakers, if you are not using a amplifier and are still using the cd player to drive the speakers, don't look for any major gains in tonal response until you add a dedicated amplifier. Your cd player struggles to produce between 14-18 w rms of power (not the 50 or 60w x 4 it may claim). You need more power to bring those speakers to life.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
