Use CD audio input for Ipod / Aux?

I'm trying to install my HK Drive + Play for my IPod, and have found that I don't have an aux input on my head unit (an old Sony MDX-C7900). I currently hooked it up via the CD input and let the CD changer run in the back, while I get the audio from the ipod. problem, of course, is that if the CD changer control cable is not hooked up , i.e. if I remove the CD changer, the CD input is no longer available as an 'input' option. Is there any kind of 'dummy plug' or something I can put on this to trick it into allowing me to select the CD input for the sake of just having the audio input available? I checked my other Sony head unit and it has no aux either, so I'm in a pinch. Any suggestions?? Thanks! Mick

There are cables made to do exactly what you suggest. I know Dension makes them and I am sure there is a sony brand one as welldouble-secret reverse-osmosis speaker-cone-induced high-level interference distortion, Its a killer

I am using a cd changer adapter on my pioneer right now.  It plugs into the changer plug and has 2 rca ends on it. 

Thanks! Not sure if I was clear, and I think the Sony may be different than some of the others. The Sony uses a DIN type plug for the control functions, and a separate set of RCA cables to send the audio to the head unit. I'm looking for something that I can put on the control plug that just enables the RCA inputs. Again, with the Sony, the CD is only selectable if the control cable is connected to the head unit and a changer. I'm trying to track down a 'dummy plug' that will just trick the head unit in to thinking that the CD changer is connected. Any further input? Thanks again! Mick
