I am currently installing new seperstes in the front doors of my 2002 Dodge Durango and I was wondering if anyone knew how deep the space was between the door panel and the spot where the side view mirror is mounted?  I was looking at a pair of Alpine SPR-17LS speakers and I want to make sure the tweeter can be flush mounted before I purchase them.  Thanks.

If you like them you should buy them.  Even if they won't flush mount to the factory sail panels, you can mount them close by or surface mount them.  There's always the option of adding onto the sail panels to make them fit (fiberglass).  Tack the tweeter pods where you want them with some superglue or something, stretch some grill cloth over them, then apply resin to it.  Once that dries, one layer of fiberglass will be more than enough.  Then just bondo, and finish them.  You can paint them, texture them, vinyl them, whatever.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
