My wife has an 05 Hyundai Tiburon GT and I recently installed a Pioneer 5800, a Power Acoustik amp and two Dual subs. Ever since I installed the CD player if I try to  turn the volume up past about 35 the amp clips the front and rear speakers cut out and the subs keep running. This I figure could be a lot of things but there is one thing that stumps me. When I first start the car the subs are the only thing that work until you crank the volume to about 45-50 then turn it almost all the way back down then the factory speakers will kick in. Just for complete information it has the infinity factory sound system and the stock subwoofer is unplugged. I used a Metra wiring harness adapter and wired everything per the instructions. Please help me out on this one as I am totally stumped.

It seems to me that there's a factory amp turn on problem, but you're probably also overdriving the inputs on the factory amp.  Just to make sure the problem is not with the deck, you can run some test speakers to the Pioneer's speaker outputs.  If those work, I would recommend bypassing the factory amp and see if that fixes it.  You'll probably want to upgrade those speakers, too.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

Thanks a bunch. I suspected the factory amp but for some reason your post gave me an idea though I'm not sure if it will work. I have a schoshe line output converter and I just remebered that in the instructions it had how to set it up for a factory amp so I may try that and see if it works. I will let you know hopefully I will have time to do it today.

Ok this was my bad, I'm color blind and accidentally hooked the speaker wires from the hu to the factory amp remote wire and the power antena wires. I fixed the mix up and it works perfectly now. I really am color blind too and the speaker wires on the adapter kit were supposed to be violet and looked grey to me so that's where I went wrong. Should have taken a little more time when I was installing it and double checked one last time.
