How do you guys think the best way to run a 2nd batt in the trunk of a car would be? Many people say different things.
Isolate? or Not?
I have 4 systems coming up that we will run 0g under the hood upgrade and to the back for the amp.
We will use a stinger yellow top for the main batt and 2nd.
We will be installing Memphis MoJos 4000w Rms and will need all the power we can get.

I say do it, and isolate it.  Like you said, you are gonna need it.  I assume you are upgrading the alt too?  And big three?
fiberglass reminds me of peanut brittle... but fiberglass tastes better!

word of warning on that amp....it is very very inefficent
we clamped one at USACi world finals.   at 1/2 ohm it was drawing 796 amps worth of current!!!!
ouch
it produced close to 7000 watts though.   I suppose ups and downs for that amp
The current setup I am working on produces 8300-8900 depending on just how high the voltage holds during our burps    we are running 17.5-17.7 volts to it though
I wil explain more detail after the setup goes to its first show.

Yes, the isolators will charge the battery that is lower and flip over when charged to the other battery.

Yes the memphis 4000d is rated for a minimum load of 1 ohm.     we compete in USACi and run amplifiers far below thier recomended loads.   this is highly highly not reccomended unless you have a relationship with the manufacturer's are are able to have your products replaced when they blow up.....because after a hile they normally do!
