Why is it that car audio is still using rca cables instead of optical cables.  It seems like it would be easier and alot more effective.

maybe bc they are more sensitive and road vibrations and cargo could damage them. I really dont know though!

what is to be gained by using fiber optic other than immunity to emi and the cool factor?

Because it is much more expensive to use optical cables as you would need a A/D on one end and D/A converter on the other.

it doesnt have more bandwith than RCA does it?
It can carry digital, is it used with any 5.1 amps?
