I'm a bit new at this but I have a dvc dual 3.7 Ohm sub and at the moment a 4 channel amp, I want to bridge both channels and run one to each voice coil, is this possible. At the moment I only have one voice coil hooked up to the bridged rear channels of the amp, until I get another terminal put in my sub box, what I was wondering is my rear channels has a LP filter and HP filter and full but my front channels switch can only be at HP filter or full. Is this common? When I switch my rear channel to LP filter does that put whole amp in LP filter mode, or can I not use my front channels for a sub? I am confused. It is a cheap amp so I don't know if it has all the features of a better one. Any advice would be appreciated.

no, the filter is only for the input it is marked for. you could try your rear filter in full...see how it sounds. or even get a active crossover to go before the amp..    good luck

An external crossover would fix that situation, and as long as the front channels are bridgeable, yes you could do this.
I have done it many times, but as I said the front channels MUST be bridgeable! If they are not, then you are left with running the woofer on the rear channels.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

sounds good they are deffinately bridgable. Just wondering those relays that are for switching from series to parralel and back are they just standard ones  that I can get from a car accesories shop?

They are the normal SPDT 30/40 amp automotive relays.

Yes they are. Thinking about the crossover issue a little more, I would think that most amplifiers when tasked to be bridged from 4 channels to 2, would more than likely source the crossover to be hp, lp or full range. What amp is this that you have? A Jaycar by chance?
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

It is a SAGA Audio USA amp 1800w Max it says but i think it is only about 350 real watts It seems strange that it doesn't have a LP filter at the front channels, as I only bought my sub to run on this amp then noticed this when I was wiring it up, and decided not to do it and rather seek advice from this forum instead

A lot of four channel amps have a HP on the fronts and a LP on the rears.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
