Good day ladies and gentlemen,

I have a question.  I've got a 99 Chevy Tahoe (4 dr)

I just picked up the Q-Custom rear door sub enclosures, They each hold a 10" sub.

I'm thinking of mounting an amp under the rear seat to run the subs in the back.

I'm concerned about the distance of the wire run, it could run anywhere from 8-12 feet (just a ball park)

I'm looking for suggestions in the following area

1.) What gauge wire, and or other setup concerns I should look after.

(these next two are simply opinion questions so don't feel the need to answer them if you don't care :)

2.) what type of subs ? I'm more of a SQ guy and leaning towards JL audio

3.) What type of amp ? I like Xtant, or Eclipse

Thanks in Advance

~Andy

Thanks in advance

Mounting the amp under the seat, depends on size of the amp I don't think your going to want it to stick out and get stepped on. Ventilation shouldn't be an issue. Basically if the amp will properly fit its not a bad spot. I would suggest a 16-18 gauge speaker wire, run length shouldn't matter. My opinion on subs, what size are the enclosure ie.cubic air space? Try to stick with a 10 that is rated for that air space (sealed I'm guessen'). JL's sound decent but don't be affraid to look at Eclipse either they have some pretty decent subs and amps.

I would suggest listening to both and seeing which one you like the most. What I like, you may hate......

The data on the enclosure says that it's best suited for a sub meant for a sealed .65 cu/ft enclosure.

I don't know the eclipse line to well, I think forbidden does eclipse and many others. I am just a small fish in this pond. I would still suggest listening before you buy, take your own music in also. Do you know what type of h.u. you want yet or are sticking with the factory unit?

currently I have a AVIC-N1, and am starting with the Subs and then moving on to do 6.5's in the front and rear doors. Probably MB's or infinity...

Should sound sweet. Do plan on amping door speakers? I would recomend sound deadning when you do put new speakers in the doors. Makes a noticeable difference in response from those speakers. On my suv's I generaly use a couple of cans of rubberized undercoating inside the door at a minimum. Just an idea for ya.

thanks for the suggestions.

Right now I'm going to tackle the subs, then try to figure out how to get the interior panels off the doors without breaking them :)
