Hi guys, i'm planning to upgrade my HU, curently i have the Pioneer DEH-P5650MP with 2.2 volt preout, and i'm planning to go with Eclipse, the models are: Eclpise CD5424 with 5 volt preout, or maybe the Eclipse CD8445 with 8 Volt preout. Is it a good idea? and will the CD5424 be much much better than the Pioneer? and how big is the difference between the two Eclipse, the CD5424 and CD8445. or will the CD5424 be more than enough? i've heard that Eclipse HU are very good and they have a very good sound quality. I don't have experience with Eclipse HU's so that's why i'm asking, anyways thnx a lot.

The Eclipse would be my chioce of head unit... It'll BLOW THE PIONEER AWAY, in terms of sound quality. Get the 8445. While the 5424 will certainly be better, SQ-wise, you'll gain significant S/N benefits with the 8v unit.
I am presently in a bind with my 8051... (I've had it 5 years - wha'd'ya want? LOL) It is getting tired, and my local Eclipse dealer has STACKS of 8445s on the shelf, AND he's giving me a SMOKIN' deal on one, so I will be swapping out for that one soon... This will not likely be a significant step up in sound quality for me, (features and toys? sure...) but certainly an improvement from the Pioneer, IMO...
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

First off, sorry for dragging this back up from the bottom...
Second off, I got my 8445 installed this weekend, and as good as the 8051 was (and it was DAMN good!), this thing is un-be-FREAKING-leiveably good sounding! Before ANY tuning, I was able to hear the diferences in piano and female voices especially... This is good, because I use a lot of both of these for references, and I listen to a lot of those as a general rule also...
Aruman, you're gonna L-O-V-E LOVE this deck. Like I said before, it'll blow the Pioneer away in terms of sound quality, and now I can and will say that with even more conviction! I can't even begin to believe the difference between old high-end, and new high-end!

yes Heamphyst it looks very sweet, i have the cd8455, when i went to buy the cd8445 by your recommendation my dealer give me the cd8455 for the price of the cd8445 and i was very happy when he told me that he will sell me the cd8455 for the price of the cd8445. but i won't install it in the next 2 months because my car is going to the garage for installing a bodykit, and i'm ordering the bodykit and a new HO Alternator since mine died 2 weeks ago.
The bodykit and the HO alternator will take like 1 month to get here and like another month for the installation of the bodykit. I will let you guys know how good it sounds.
Heamphyst i want to thank you again, because it was also by you that i now have the 8455 since i was planning to buy the CD5424. and that's why i love this forum. like they say the12volt rocks, anyways thanks again. Eclipse CD8445? -- posted image.

I wonder how this forum got along without Eclipse before I started talking about it all the time. Good score on a great cd player.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
