here are the 2 amps I have ot make a decision on today. The first is the new Diamond audio D3600.1 http://www.diamondaudio.com/products/index.cfm?page=productSearch&Line=3&Type=27&model=d3600.1

The second is the Directed 1200 www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/3022

They are both 1 ohm stable which is what i want for my 2 dvc 4ohm HP orion 12" subs. And both 600w x 1 @ 1 ohm

Please help all you experts. ps, both amp are less that 300, so if you have any other suggestions Im all ears but these seem the best quality for the price. Subs are 500 rms each,,, thanks agian

Diamond. No question in my mind.
Secondly, why are you even thinking of paying MORE on sale than the list price for the Directed? As per the website you linked, list price is $57, and they are selling it for 233! A savings of (and they even SAY it) -176 dollars! Not a savings at all, is it?
Just jabbin' at ya, but I'd be really wary of a website or company that is THAT sloppy with their information...
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I did not even notice that list price, lol, good observation skills. I was thinking the same as you (go with the diamond) but because there is so much combined experience on this site I thought Id ask just in case someone had a negative opinion on the Diamond. Thanks for response.

Why not go bigger on the amp at the 1 ohm load? If you are buying an amp regardless, get one that has some bigger balls behind it, this way you have the power on tap that you no doubt are going to want to drive the subs properly without the amp going into clipping.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

That is good advice as well.  I thought the rule was to give the subs 2/3 of their actual wattage? Thats the only reason I was thinking around 300W. I have A mustang Gt. so I have a decent alternator, but will probably upgrade anyway. Do you have a recommendation? Advice would be highly appreciated, And remember Im not a millionaire, lol. The Diamond i can get for about 300 or less.

Also, unless they state that they are an authorized retailer for the brand odds are the serial numbers will be removed along with the factory warranty.
Ikesound, woofersetc, etronics, and onlinecarstereo are all notorious for removing serial numbers so beware.
