I have a Power Acoustik FUBR12 12" Subwoofer and I'm building a box for it. It came with a rubber gasket that covers up the mounting holes from the outside, but there are holes in the gasket through the back. I can lift up the front of the gasket and expose the holes to the front. Is this the way I am supposed to mount it, by lifting up the gasket, putting the screws in and then setting it back down?? Also, what is the minimum height and width needed for a 12" sub, that will still allow for mounting holes? Thanks!

I'm going to presume that the additional gasket is to be used in the event that you will be inverting the sub. It shouldn't be necessary at all in a normal mount situation (although I'm not intimately familiar with this brand) and won't do a thing for sound. Just be sure the sub is secured air tight to the enclosure. For size....here's an idea. Use a tape measure. Didn't you say you have the sub?

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

What I meant was if there was a minimum amount of extra space outside of the mounting hole around the sub.....I know how to use a tape measure. If I take the gasket off, the sub looks pretty bad, so do I just glue the gasket to the box face?
