repairing rca terminals on amps?

So this is my first time posting. curious as to if anyone has any knowledge or expierience on repairing the rca terminals on a four hannel amp. i work at a shop the guy came in and had a prob. with sound cutting in and out. tested the rca cables and they were bad replaced them and ironicly his rca terminals were bad too. so now he thinks i lied to him and that im trying to take his money. i am an honest guy so i would like to fix the amp myself if at all possible. any info would be great i just dont want to have to take anymore of his money. its a pioneer 4 channel cant remember model # any help would be great thanx all

The first spot I would look is where the terminals are soldered to the board. You can probably get away with just resoldering them. Typically if people are too rough when putting on or removing the rca cables it can cause problems there. Fix the amp and then use his old bad cables back to back with some good ones. He can't argue with you if they don't work then.

RCA terminals are relatively easy to replace.  You'll have to open the amp and see what type they are and how they are soldered to the mainboard, then simply order the correct replacements and solder them in.  But before you make any promises take a careful look at the mainboard.  If the terminals got jammed the main board may be broken and then it's new amp time.Support the12volt.com
