I'm having trouble installing a new receiver in my 99 mitsubishi galant. I keep blowing the fuse that goes to the dome lights and power locks. And when I don't hock up the neg. dimmer wire I don't blow the fuse. Can any help??

You've just answered your own question - don't hook up the negative dimmer wire. You don't need it for the aftermarket head unit to function. Tape it off and forget about it.
