OK i'm here to say i messed up.  I have installed tons of radios for friends and family and never had a problem . . . until now.  I installed a radio in a 2001 honda accord.  i took the two orange wires from the wiring harness and attached them both to the one coming out of the radio.  I wasn't paying attention.  as a result there is no dash lights or tail lights.  I checked all fuses inside the car and under the hood.  I replaced the ones that have to do anything with lighting to be safe and have corrected my wiring mistake(orange with stripe to orange with stripe/solid orange not used).  so with all of this said how to i correct this?  how do i get the dash and tail lights working again?

if you dash and tailights dont work than it is a fuse if it were just your dash light i would say it is your dimmer switch. do this, go to radio shack or something

copy and paste this link it to a new browser window
get this altenator tester. clip the black wire to ground than go to your fuses and test both sides onf the fuse. take red lead and place it on the metal of the fuse . do this when the ignition and parking lights are on. what your looking for is the lights on meter to light up on both sides of the fuse., if one side lights up and the other does not youhave a blown fuse. change it for the exact same value. and test all others as well.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.
