Ok, I just picked up a 12" infinity kappa (dual 2 ohm) and want to make a custom slot vent enclosure for it. This will be my first attempt at making my own box and I want to try to get it right the first time so I am trying to get all the advice possible. Here are the TS parameters and some enclosure recommendations.   They are not all that clear (at least to me) whether the volumes shown are net or gross. And how do I convert the round port dimensions to a slot vent? Do I just make one that is the same volume? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks

WINISD is a free program you could use and you can custom make your own enclosure however you like it.

Sweet, that helps a lot, but can anyone tell me if the box volume in this software is net or gross?

Volume is always gross.  The program cannot detect how much bracing you have in the box, and does not figure sub displacement either as it does not know how thick you are building the face baffle.  Deduct all displacements from the given volume, then change the volume to correspond.  This site has a handy box calculator that you might want to use.  http://www.mhsoft.nl/spk_calc.asp#top has a bunch of handy calculators.

The sub displacement given in the manual would allow for a 3/4" thick face baffle with the cutout size as indicated.

Your sub should be in a sealed box, by the way.  EBP is 42.  Read my guide to using WinISD stickied above.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
