I am think about replacing my single Kicker L7 12" sub woofer.  The amp i am pushing it is 800w rms @ 2ohms. The sub hits hard, but I am not really impressed with the sound quality. I was thinking about replacing it with a mtx T9512-44 single 12" sub and was wondering if anyone either has heard these subs, or has these subs and what they think of them. Thanks for the info

The MTX 9512-44 is a good sub, they get realy loud, if you go with it, make sure you put it in a ported box.

I was planning on going ported. My L7 is in a vented enclosure. So do you think sound quality would be improved with tis sub over an L7. I am not looking for the loudest sub, just a good amount of spl with nice sound quality.

Also (sorry for the double post) I was wondering if building a nice sealed enclosure would improve sound quality on my L7?

Enclosure is a huge factor in sound quality...I'd say stick with the L7 and just build a new box for it.

i was very very unhappy with a sealed enclousre for my 12 L7....but try this out.
3.65 cu ft internal before port displacement and sub displacement, with a 2.25x13.25x22 inch slot port
I was very very happy with this box after playing with a bunch of airspace combos I have stuck with this for a few weeks and thats very rare for me!
