Hi there, i hope iam using the correct forum here, excuess me if iam not.
Ive got the alpine cda 9831 head unit. Ive recently started to have problems with it, the head unit keeps turning itself on and off at different times sometimes it stays on for about 10minutes then i have to reset it and turn it back on. Sometimes it doesnt turn back on and therefore i have to leave it. Ive checked all the connections/voltages, and they all seem fine.
Could you advise me on what i should do or what you think the problem might be, please?
Thanks alot, appreciate any advice. :D

It was working fine and then this behavior began?  If you changed nothing and it just started doing this, sounds like time for a trip to your friendly neighborhood Alpine dealer for repair service.

Yer, thats what i was thinking. I found a slightly lose positive connection, which was what i thought the problem was. Its strange tho, ive not changed anything only taken it out to check it and it sometimes works when i press the MX button.
Cheers for your advice tho.

Electronics wear out and break, and sometimes issues like this appear at the beginning of summer because they are heat-related.

Some of these Alpines had a bad connection with the detachable faceplate. Get a pencil erasor and clean the contacts on the faceplate and HU. If this doesn't work, (800) 421-2284, ask for customer service.
There is no such thing as free installation!
