I have looked at many subs and I am not sure on which one(s) to buy. Also power is a problem. My equipment is as follows:
Kenwood EX KDC 889
Orion 8004 200RMS x 4
Orion HCCA D5000 2500RMS x 1 @ 1Ohm
MB Quart QSD 213 5 1/4" Componets (front)
Kenwood EX DualMags 5 1/4" Componets (rear)
Soundstream SC-8 8 Fared Capacitor
Stinger 1/0 gauge with 200 anl fuse link
Streetwires 4 gauge and Musica 200 interconnects
I would like something with good sound quality but will inhibit your breathing.LOL I have looked at the Solo X 12" and the JL 13.5" W7 but the 3 Ohm DVC seems hard to match to my amp and it also has low power handling(1000W RMS). I have also though about 2 12.4 Orion H2. Any suggestions on the subs or a way to even out the W7 resistence to achieve a optimium power for the sub.I have heard bad things about the Solo X and the H2 dealing with sound quality.
Also any other suggestions will be appreciated.Thank you in advance.

Sell that cap and save for a HO alt...when will they figure out about caps?
Powerhandling is a little factor...Enclosure is pretty much 99 percent of the loudness and sound quality...w7 in a good box will take your breath away.

A W7 seems to be what I want but im not sure how to wire it
to make my amp push out as close to 1000W as it can be and buying a new amp is outta the question. I want to be able to upgrade to another one at a later date.It rates at 1000RMS @4 Ohms and 1600W RMS @ 2 Ohms. So at 3 ohms it would push 1300W? Would just turning down the gain work to decrease the power? Will the W7 handle the extra 300W without smoking the voice coil and turning it into a exspensive paperweight?

The gain is NOT a volume knob...But turning the gain down will help...As long as you stay withing the thermal power handling range than you'll be fine...but power handling is also dependent on enclosure.
That amp will do fine...a JL500/1 can push a W7 pretty good. 500 clean real watts will do you fine.
