03 cavy sound deadening project pics

Me and my wife decided to work on some deadening this weekend. She did half, I did half which made it get done pretty quick. This is some stuff I picked up at lowes that was 70 bucks for 108 sq ft. It is in their roofing department and it is very similar to dynamat. It is an asphalt/butyl mix I think. The asphalt products I have used before didn't adhere nearly this well, and it would droop in the heat, but this stuff sticks like there's no tomorrow and it loves the heat like fat kids love cake and just sticks even better. Here's some updated pictures, we ended up using all 108 sq ft :) You can click on them to see jumbo pics. This is the tiny little strip of sound deadening GM put on at the factory... thanks gm! And that's the extra I put on... a little more effective. This shows a couple different colors of the deck. It has three sets of 5 volt pre outs, a seven band eq, high and low pass 12db crossovers, motorized faceplate with three tilt settings and 7000+ pretty colors which is what my wife likes about it. Another picture of the door... I think we might have added more deading, I'm not sure, we have so many layers on the doors it is silly. The rear deck will have mb quart 5x7's in it, I am one of those weirdos that like rear fill, sorry. The trunk will be getting another 1 or two layers of deadening before the subs go in. I plan on running 3 Elemental Designs 13kv.2'sfiberglass reminds me of peanut brittle... but fiberglass tastes better!

Its called ice and water shield, its self adhesive backed, just make sure you get the non-granular face.

Sprawl, so how's that deadener holding up?? Have you tested it with heat or low temps yet?? Might go this weekend and get some

The stuff that was applied while it was really hot out is holding up really good, the other stuff drooped. I would have to recommend using a heat gun on this stuff. You need to get it as hot as the sun is going to get it while applying it, just like original dynamat (and all other asphalt based deadeners). And make sure you prep everything with acetone too. But other than that you shouldn't have any problemsfiberglass reminds me of peanut brittle... but fiberglass tastes better!
