ok i have a problem that is killing me. when i turn on the stereo the amp will click and then go into protection. i can and have removed all the speaker wires and rca cables and have it do the same thing. it will do it when it is cold and it will do it after it has been used. if i keep messing with it sometimes it will work for any givin amount of time. it has shut off while playing a few times and it was not very hot. i have since replaced the power wire going to the amp from the battery and the ground. i have read and tried the ground in different places and even all the way back to the battery. i have pulled,checked,and reinstalled the rca's.i have checked all the speaker wires as well. i am on the way to replace the remote wire right now. right now it is working fine as i type this but will go out again.

vehicle===2004 ford f150 fx4 supercrew.

amp==sx5750 autotek-5 channel 4 years old.

wireing==4 guage cable from the battery to amp. 4 guage ground 18" long

sub==10w3 wired in 2 ohm. yes the amp is two ohm stable

front==alpine 5X7 components===16guage wire from amp to speakers and crossover.

rear==blaupunkt 5X7 coaxial.

head==alpine cda9847.

any and all questions and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

ok you have allready isolated the speaker lines, and rca's. the next thing to do is isolate it from the truck. from another vehicle or a 12volt power supply try to power up the amp, if it does the same thing bad amp. if not back to the truck we go. amp==sx5750 autotek-5 channel 4 years old. ive had a lot of problems with these amp ive seen 10 or more do the same thing as yours. i have a repair service that repair them for me for about $100.
bring back the rotary phone so i dont have to press 1 to proceed in english

Did the amp work fine and then stop working?  Sounds like it simply died.  Repair or replace time.
