If say you have a 2 channel amp and it is running bridged to a 2 ohm load, the amp in essence does indeed see it as a 1 ohm stereo load and 99.99999999 percent of amplifiers will not like this kind of load.

4 ohm stereo = 8 ohm mono

2 ohm stereo = 4 ohm mono

1 ohm stereo = 2 ohm mono This is what he is talking about.

.5 ohm stereo = 1 ohm mono.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

A stereo amplifier is the same as two amplifiers in one chassis.  When they are bridged together, the two amps are sharing one load.  Each of the two amps must be able to handle 1/2 the impedance of the total load.  If the total load is 4-ohms, 4-ohms is being shared between two amps.  1/2 of 4-ohms is 2-ohms.  Each amp must be stable with a 2-ohm load.  4-ohm mono, if connected to a bridged stereo amp, is the same load as a 2-ohm stereo load.
