I have been outta the install for a while so I need a refresher. I got an 02 monte ss without bose. I opted not to buy the highend wire harness with the factory power supply to keep everything running after i turn the car off until i open the doors. I know that with the metra 80-2003kit I am suppost to be able to run a wire to still have that effect. Where am I connectin it to? I am assuming to my fuse box but to where?

Not using the data interface has proven time and time again to cause some intresting problems, I am sure if you do a search on this site you'll find some. It is well worth the 80 dollars to get one.

so i found out yesterday. thank you. I wish i woulda double checked this b4 i spent 3 hours trying to find a wire that doesnt exist and why my airbag light came on. OOPS! no worries i put the factory back in and all is well. I am now looking into the relocation method. any tips?

unplug the radio, put the key in and turn it forward,not started...if it dosent *ding ding* and you dont have Bose, or OnStar, you still need the DCGM09 harness for your chimes. It's been said that if that harness is needed and not used it could prevent the airbags from deploying in an accident. worth it to me

The metra #gmrc01 works nice, retail around 80 us.

The radio has nothing to do with the airbags.

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
