Hooked up two 10" Alpine type r's in a ported box to an old kenwood 6oo watt max amp and it slams like crazy I do not know what ohm I have it wired down to so if someone can give me some help on this it would be great. Each sub is wired in 2 ohm. THey are dual 4 ohm voice coil subs. Each sub is going to their own channel. Its a two channel amp. Does that mean I am running it in two ohm stereo cause I know if I was running them in parallel briged to the amp it would be 1 ohm mono. So does that mean it is in 1 ohm stereo?. It heats up pretty quick but never cuts out and slams hard.

Yes, your amp is loaded at 2 ohms per channel.  That is the limit of the amp...it will get hot, but if everything is set correctly it will not go into protection.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

The model of them am is the Kenwood KAC-729S .Yea I figured that was the limit to this amp. It runs strong for 45 minutes of full out bumping but then goes into thremal.
