stereo haywire, 95 grand prix

i bought a 95 grand prix and it had a dead stereo in it i changed it back to the factory stereo but i had to get a wire harness from another car because it was cut out by the previese owner i rewired everything and now the sstereo only works if the door is open if the door closes it shuts off help me please

There are numerous similar color wires in the harness. Make sure that the colors are not crossed between each other. The problems sounds like the RAP wire is reversed with another wire. Not sure on which one it is, but you can find out quick enough with a DMM.

Sounds like you're using the domelight wire to feed the radio. The yellow wire is the accessory whereas the orange is battery direct.
