I have a pioneer premeir in my 2000 Jetta IV. I recently pulled it out to hard wire my Sirius Sportster Power line to the wiring harness. I have the ground on ground and the power line <to the Sportster> on the constant power line of the harness.

The Sportster is working fine but I plugged my head unit back in and nothing is coming on. A voltmeter is showing that I have power all the way to the clip that plugs into the deck. All I can figure is when I had the wires unwrapped they bumped. I was trying to do a quick job didn't disconnect the battery : / But the deck was not plugged in then so I don't know why it would have shorted anything in there and as far as I can tell the lines have power all the way to the clip. The fuse on the back of the head unit is still good.

I'm at a bit of a loss. Any help would be appreciated.

The accs. power leed for the deck....does it have the resistor in line? (old school, and some new ones too).

Have just the wire.....nothin else, cut the resistor out of line.

Yup, sounds like the IGNITION lead's resistor is burned out. I always cut that stupid thing out in all my installs because it will cause you problems in the future.
