I am installing a Nissan 6-CD changer. It includes an amplifier turn-on signal lead, but the FSM says that the criteria is "greater than 6.5V". My RF amplifier has a 12V turn-on lead connector, so I'm not sure if the head unit will turn on the amp or not.

Anyone have suggestions on how to connect this? Should I just use the 12V switched power (which will make the amp turn on when the car is started)?

If I need to add a relay, any specific model suggestions would be very helpful. Crutchfield had the Bosch E5000 relay listed on their Web site, but they said that the turn-on signal had to be 12V as well as the 12V constant source, even though the instruction sheet only stated that the input signal needs to be "positive switched".

#1 -- what do you mean by "come off the acc. wire with a proper fuse?". You mean add a fuse between the radio harness and the amp? Isn't the fuse for the audio system protection enough?

#2 -- What kind of relay can I get that will work with a 6V signal input?

Does anyone else think that the relay would work with the 6V input? I'm not doubting nouseforaname, I just would like a couple of opinions before I have to order the relay!
