If you have an 04 or newer taurus you are no doubt aware that the airbag light will come on when installing an aftermarket deck with a metra or whatever older taurus harness/kit.

I saw someone asked a question and was concerned about the defroster button being on the right instead of the left, who cares and whats your point? This kit is pretty hideous anyway so whats the big diff.

Anyway, solution to the problem. You will need 10k of resistor to do this.

If you count in three pins on the harness you will see a tan with blue striped wire. I cannot remember from which side or any of that. There is only one wire this color. We will call it pin "3".

Cut it.

Now count over two locations further from the end, you are now on pin "5" for the sake of discussion. This wire is consistently different from car to car, for example mine was RED / yellow.

Cut it.

Splice your 10k of resistance between your two cut wires, and viola, no airbag light. I have a company taurus with an aftermarket deck. I did this, it worked.

Please don't email me with any questions of clarification. That is about all I remember, but its pretty darn straight forward.

There is no question, I had searched this forum last week for some information and could not find any. I thought I would just add this for anyone who is searching.

That's good, though, that you made the post.  Someone searching "taurus" will see it.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
