Processor Wiring

I bought a yamaha YDSP-1 sound processor from my boss that he used in his RTA vehicle.  His told me that I need to wire the front, passenger speaker OUT of phase to get the correct effect from the unit, but I read the manual for the unit several times and I never saw anything in it about wiring out of phase.  Actually all I saw was to hook everything up normally (nothing mentioned of abnormal install).  Does anyone know about this or any other processors?  Do any others have to be wired that way or this one?  The only reason I am sceptical is the fact he got so many high and perfect RTA scores with it wired out of phase but the manual never says to."If a man made it, another can modify it...it just takes some thinking."

I can see no reason for it, but it certainly won't hurt anything at all to invert the phase of your front left speaker. Try it, see if you like it, if so, leave it, if not, reverse it. I found the manual online, and it says nothing about inverting any speakers, as you mentioned. Perhaps it is just a tweak discovered by your boss, have you asked him why the recommendation for this inversion? Every system will be different, and it is possible this is the way it worked best in his car, so my trial and error suggestion above still stands, really...
