I have a MTX 81000D and it is inoperable.  I don't know what the problem is but i was wanting it to get fixed.  I contacted mtx and they told me to send it in repair for $90.  Is this a good move or is there another route i could go?

Best to send it to the manufacturer

Always check info with a digital multimeter.
I promise to be good.
Tell Darwin I sent you.
I've been sick lately, sorry I won't be on much.

$90 is cheap. And it would be a factory refurb. Thats the route I would go.

I agree, $90 is a great price. I'd go that route.
