I pulled my old XDV-P9 out of my car some time ago and stored it away. I just got around to selling it. The problem is I forgot and left DVDs in it. How would I go about power it up enough to eject the DVDs? I looked up the manual and found the leads on the power connector to be 1 goes to ground, 2 goes to power always on, 3 goes to ACC, and 4 goes to the parking brake. It requires 12v battery and negative grounding. Instead of ripping my car apart to hook it up for a minute I figured I would just grab a old computer power supply from the house and use it. I ran 12V DC to line 2 and 3 and ground to 1 and 4. Nothing happened. I pressed the reset button several times and the eject button and nothing. I put my meter on it and the votage is there. What did I do wrong? Did I possibly damage the player? Pin 1 was getting ground just like in the car Pin 2 was getting 12v DC just like in the car Pin 3 was getting 12v DC just like if the car was on Pin 4 was getting ground just like the car would do if the parking break was on I am wondering if I was not providing enough amps, or to many amps? Does something else have to be plugged in for it to power up, like a head unit? Or worst of all while it was working years ago when I pulled it out it no longer does? Please help. I also have a AVIC-505 that I need to get the CD out of and I don't want to mess it up to.

Ok, I broke down and took the changer out to the car and wired pin 1 and 4 to ground and 2 and 3 to 12v, still nothing. For it to eject does it have to be plugged into the IP-Bus or a remote sensor so that that it can turn on? Any help would be great.

Yes, it does. Just the remote eye can be plugged in, but set the switch on the side of the unit to 'stand-alone'.time is bending.....

I'm afraid I don't have a remote sensor. I tried plugging the IP-Bus in and of course that did not work. I know that the remote sensor/brain cable must be plugged in but is there any way to trick it enough to eject the DVDs? I would ship it with the DVDs in but I feel that would be unsafe.
