Diagnostic troubles

I have a problem where the speakers on the left side (front and rear) intermittently don't work.  These are on a 4-channel amp, and the right side works.  Is the amp the problem?

On another vehicle, I have a 15 inch sub (powerbass xtreme, 2vc x 1ohm), and whenever the bass hits there is a painful vibration (not the good kind)  is this an indication of a blown sub?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Its real odd that both front and rear on the same side would intermitantly quit. To me thats an indication that the audio cables are hooked up wrong on the amp. But anyways.....check the audio cables, wiggle and giggle em.

Your second issue: Use your DMM and get a reading of the coils, keep in mind how you have your sub wired... What type of amp is powering the sub?

I have the two voice coils wired in series, and paralleled with another sub (2vc x 1ohm) to get a 1 ohm load to the power acoustik class D amp.  What exactly am I looking for with the Dmm?

To make sure you got that load. Are you sure the Power Acoustic D is 1 ohm capable? Is one of these yours?

I am using the power acoustik 3000

and the head unit is a Pioneer Premier 960
