The RMS ratings on the kenwood amps are CEA compliant and I have tested both the 9102d and 9152d. They both put out within 50w of what they claim on each ohm load...

edit: btw, I freaking love the Kenwood amps...

i would stick with the kenwood if you didnt want to spend money on a new amp. most name brands are cea compliant so like cloak said they put out what they say they do. if the fosgate is less powerful then the kenwood dont spend the money on the kenwood.

Actually, the Kenwood KAC-9152d is the same price and it puts out about 100 more watts at 2omhs, its 1 ohm stable, and it also comes with a bass control knob...So if he really wants kenwood I would steer him toward that...

If they guy really wants a bass knob, just get a $15 inline pot.

I personally like the fosgates better than the kenwoods, but if money is the issue, $15 would help to give him what he "wants".
