Hi,

i have a little bit of a problem here with my mazda millenia. i just installed a new Pioneer head unit with cd changer mounted in the trunk. the new HU does not have a seperate power antenna wire instead it has an amp turn on wire. also my car has a diversity antenna (one power and one in the rear window) for now i am just using the one in rear window with adapter in place but i wil have to splice the other one in somehow cause the reception is baaad!

My question is how do i connect that power antenna so it goes up only when the radio is on and comes down when i listen to cd or aux ? my gues is there is some kind of relay that activates the antenna. Any thoughts???

that was no help.

millenia doesn't have amplified antenna, it's just power antenna that goes up from the trunk when the radio is on. factory radio had two connectors: 1 regular antenna plug 2nd is smaller antenna plug ( just like some GM models) i had to use special adapter for that. so now i have only one antenna connected and trying to figure out how make that power antenna to go up when i listen to am or fm only.

My suggestion would be to just use the amp turn on wire (it won't hurt anything), or get another deck. Anything else would require dissassembly of the unit to perform some internal modifications (which would void the manufacturer's warranty), and you'd have to be familiar with the internals.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
