subs go very loud at random

Well, to begin my system was working perfectly beforehand. I recently installed an Ice>link plus to connect my ipod through the aux in at the rear of the Deck. (my only option other then an FM transmitter *cry) anyhow it sounded excellent at first but it would randomly make the subs go very very loud and i cannot tell weither it's simply a white noise hum or the volume shooting up, but i've basically turned the subs off for the time being, out of fear that they would be damaged. when i was plugging all the cables in after installing the ice>link, i did noticed the lines going to the subwoofers would not hold very well, i havent had a chance to go back in and have a look, but would the red and white RCA cables touching each other cause this noise? (i know the first thing i should do is pull the deck out and check it, but i have to wait for a clear day, and mother nature doesnt seem receptive, and i'd like to cover all my bases) i have a 99 Accord, Sony Xplode deck, Sony Xplode 800 watt Amp. please forgive my ignorance, any help would be greatly appreciated. -RenehSony Xplode Deck

Ensure that the rca ends themselves fit tight. If they do not, you will have to look at the ends of the rca cable coming from the amp. Most of them have 4 pins on them that might be slightly bent out. Gently bend them in a bit and the cable should then grip the rca barrel on the deck side nice and tight again. Once the connection is made, throw some black tape over the joint as well.Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

do you have a bass nob on your amp? or do you have the bass on your amp up high? when my friend turned the bass nob up on his subs they would kick. he just turned down the bass nob on his amp and it wasnt as loud, i told him to replace the rca cable but he wouldnt listen to me. is the same thing happening to you?
