I recently did some work over the past year gradually overdoing my infinity stereo upgrade for my 2001 Chrysler LHS into something real. I changed the deck with an Audiobahn 1150N so I could use my iPod "seamlessly", bypassed the factory amp, thus disconnecting the window sails speakers, and have replaced the 4 main speakers with Infinity reference full range speakers. (6.5" in the doors and 6x9's in the back shelf)
I got a very nice amp that will put out around 100W a channel to the four channels. Plan on running the window sails directly off the head with a second order cross over as not to blow them with bass. A crossover of around 500Hz meaning the lowest frequency I want to hear on the window sails.
The only problem I perceive is that I have to mount the amp. I currently live in Florida which means my trunk will be very hot so the trunk option looks very bad. It won't fit under my seat either. The salesperson recommended mounting it on the back of the passenger's seat which would make it easy to work with. I'm thinking a better place would be on the back shelf between the 6x9's.
Does anyone have any input as to what this would entail. I will post pictures if anyone desires.

After posting I played around some more. By putting the amp on my back shelf I will have t out of the way and the wiring will be neater, as I will be able to snake it through the latches for the car seat anchor ports. It would also be slightly off center. But big deal it's going to be nice and crisp.
This seems like a really good spot in general, why don't people typicaly install them there? Since I will have access to this spot fairly easily would it be OK to mount the amp while everything is open?

I suppose I could always cover it up with a newspaper when out and get my windows tinted. In addition to possibly upgrading my car alarm with the "Denver Jock Strap".
