I have a customer who has this car with the factory amp under the passenger front seat.It has a 8 pin DIN plug at the head unit. Anybody work on one of these? The guy got cheap on me and wants to change out the HU and factory speakers but keep the factory amp. I'm looking for the DIN wire pin locations and whether the amp has built in crossovers.

hi,

yes, i've worked on them before.  the amp does have built in crossovers.

as for the din connector at the amp ...center pin is remote.

starting with alignment notch at bottom and going clockwise: left input, left signal ground, left input, no connection, right input, right signal ground, right input.

i'm pretty sure the contacts that mirror each other correspond to the fronts and rears inputs respectively.

you may want to use a headunit with a higher preout voltage (two volts plus) as i recall the stock headunit had higher output voltage.

a little trip down memory lane there...hope this helps
