2006 Jeep Wrangler, stereo, speakers

Thanks for the reply, but it's not for my 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. As I posted above; my rear speaker wires at the speakers are brown in base color with different colored stripes.  The fronts are grey in base color at the speakers. Any other ideas? Thanks!

Has anyone succesfully installed a highly musical system in an '03 or newer convertible Wrangler? These vehicles seem to be severely limited.

I currently run 5-1/4" Kappa components in the dash and Kappa 5-1/4" coaxials in the overhead sound bar. The sub is a single Pioneer TS-SW1041D in a 1.0 cu ft. sealed enclosure. The Alpine head unit powers the overhead sound bar speakers and an Alpine MRV-F345 4 channel amp powers the sub and front dash speakers.

Problems:

The sub does not have enough output to give that visceral feeling and impact of a kick drum.

The Kappas are too small to offer up any appreciable midbass.

The Kappas have a hot midrange, especially when playing female vocals or piano.

The Kappas sound nasally like a horn speaker.

It seems as if I have treble and bass with nothing inbetween. No warmth.

My home system and preferred sound:

Sony 999ES CD player

Almarro 18 watt Single Ended Triode vacuum tube amp

Played the new Disturbed cd today and the Wrangler system could not handle the first song.

Speakers in dash are mounted to metal adapter plates covered in Dynamat. Then; the front spealer area is filled with polyfill loosely surrounding the speakers. 

The overhead sound pods just behind the froint seats,  are filled with lamb's wool with the speakers bolted in the stock locations.  The sound pods are molded plastic and actually offer up more midbass than the fronts. The soundpods fire downwards just behind the driver's and passenger's heads.

It seems that 5-1/4" mids can only offer up so much bass before distorting. They are crossed over at 80hz. What would be ideal is door pods, but have you seen '03 or newer Jeep door panels? :O

Dude it's a Jeep good luck you can get a great sounding audio system as long as your sitting sitll but once you start going all bets are off, wind noise, tires and if they are off road tires your done for.

The best thing you can do is put them in the doors use 6.5" speakers there I like seperaets for that then put a nother pair in a box on the tire wells. And for get the one's in the dash. The nice thing about those speakers beside the sound if you take it off road you do not have to worry about dirt and small rocks getting in the moveing part of the cone like you would with coax speakers. Then you will want a amp to provide enough power to help over come the road noise that you have to deal with. Then hope that no one takes a knife to windows to retrive your new audio system.

My self I also have a wrangler YJ I just use oem speakers with a amp it works no where near the sound I like but then again its a JEEP! My wife's Honda CRV now that's a different story.

6.5 oem speaker with boston tweeter from a old pair of 6x9 Not pretty but then again if they get taken not really a big deal, they give me sound.

I realize all of the above. How the heck do you get speakers in an '03 or newer Wrangler?
