I'm trying to install an Alpine CDA-9857 with the Scosche wiring harness, P/N:  HA10B, into my 2006 Honda Civic DX. My problem is, I got everthing wired up correctly and the HU is not getting any power, i.e. it won't turn on. I looked at the obvious, such as burnt fuses etc., but to no avail. To troubleshoot I tried hooking the stock HU (amplified, non-navigation) back up, and now that's not getting any power. I applied 12v to the Alpine and it works. Has anyone encountered such a problem, and if so what was done to correct the problem?

BTW:  I hooked up the Alpine remote turn on lead to the factory amp turn on lead also.

Sounds like a blown fuse, meter the constant wire and see if your getting anything if not check all the fuses even ones that dont say anything about the radio check the ones in the car and under the hood as well.

I pulled all of them. They're all good. I'll try metering the constant. I just figured that since it's such a new car that there would be some kind of trick to fool the car into thinking the stock head unit was still there, or something along those lines. No tricks? Anyone?

Should be no need to "trick it" it is a fairly straightforward headunit install thats why I was thinking fuses, especially since the stock one does not work either anymore, maybe take a close look and make sure all harnesses are tight and such and definitely meter it and see what your getting
