I need to find the factory remote turn on wire for an aftermarket system on a 2004 BMW 745i

I think there may be one in the rear passenger cig lighter, at the end of the end of the center arm rest. And there may be one in the tuner pack in the rear, near the amps. Good luck with that car.

I dont believe there is one, everything is controlled by data in those vehicles. You might find an ignition wire some where.

I have installed a few video systems in these cars and have learned from a BMW master mechanic. Everything in the car is either battery or data. Neither of us could find any switched source to hook into. If you don't hook to the battery you can cause the car to constantly stay awake trying to find the source of the battery draw. Even if the draw is minimal the onboard diagnsotic system sense it and will never give up trying to resolve the problem. The result is a dead battery. Your best bet is to try and find if someone has created a data module to do what you need. Failing this you may have to install a manual switch to turn anything on/off.
