I've finally gotten all of my audio equipment to really get my car going. Here's a list of what I have...

As far as headunits go, I've got a Alpine CDA-9825 and a Pioneer DEH-P350. I think I'm going to go with the Alpine though. I hear they are great headunits.

For components, I've got a set of SPX-177R Type X components from Alpine.

For subs, I've got a SWX-1022D Type R 10. The sub is going into a ported box that's about 1.95 ^3 ft before port displacement and sub displacement.

As far as amps go, it's a Directed 300/2, which I think I'm going to run to the sub, and have access to a VS-1405 American Pro 600 watt max 4 channel amp.

Would it be better to run the 4 channel amp on the components? If I'm not mistaken they have around 300 watts max power handling. I've also got some crossovers, but not really sure how to hook them up.

As far as my question goes, would the Alpine be a better bet over the Pioneer Premier? I know the Alpine has 6 pre amp outputs, so installing more amps would be super easy.

Let me know if you think this system will work and whether or not I should use the Directed or the VS 1405 to power the components. I suppose I could always use the 4x50 from the headunit, but I hear these components really deserve an amp of their own.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks again,

Zac

I've got a brand new alpine type x component set, but I'm unsure of how to hook them up. The wiring diagrams in the manual look like they are using both crossovers for 1 tweeter, 1 mid, and 1 sub. Is it not possible to use one crossover for all 3? Right now I've only got one amp, and I prefer it go to my sub. Is it possible to wire the mids and tweeters with a crossover, and use the CD player to power them? New to installs, and not finding too much that's relevant to what I am doing on the search feature.

Just a little background information... I've got an Alpine 9825 (Which I plan on using) and a Pioner DEH-P350, an alpine type x component set, and an alpine type R 10" sub. The box is ported to 33hz at around 2 feet of cubic feet.

Could anyone help me figure out the best way to wire all this up? The sub is a 2 ohm DVC sub.

Thanks!
