What will it  hurt to put passive filters or x-overs B4 an amp??Haven't seen this done ,that I can find referance for,in years. Is there a reason that it has stoped being done? All i see is filters ect after the amp and b4 the speaker.

One would think filtering b4 the amp would work the amp less (less input to process)and even potentialy lower distortion by filtering out unwanted freqs prior to amplification.Or am i bass ackwards as usual.Haven't worried about sound systems this much in about 19-20 yrs maybe.

Only way to do that is if you're using a line level converter or the amp is high level inputs...can't really do it to rcas lol.
I doubt it would make any difference in the sound...the crossover slope would be weird...amps crossovers dont really have to work hard at all

It probably won't work.  Passive crossovers take into account the impedance of the speaker, which wouldn't be present on the low level side.  What you  need is an active electronic crossover, or better yet a digital crossover.

Sure... Do it all day long, with these!
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
