If anyone has experienced the backlite going out on the factory 03' and up accord factory radio, this is a VERY helpful link on how to either A) fix it yourself or B) get honda to warranty it

Nice! Did a remote start on one a year ago and when i was done, no illumination on the radio. I knew it was not my fault, as I have done a ton of these. Sent the customer to the dealer, as it was under warranty, and never heard from them again. Good find! Not too keen on their "repair" job, but at least there is a TSB now.

yeah, my girlfriends display on her radio just went out the other day and as soon as i searched on google i found that. apparently just about every single honda from 03-04 has this problem with the display going out and if the dealer charges the customer for a new radio its like $1000 all because of a resistor that fries out on the circuit board. there is a honda service bulletin regarding this matter #04-027, so if anyone every has an angry customer accusing us installers of making their display go out at least we have some documantation from honda about this matter!

I worked at a Honda dealer at the service desk for a while. They do indeed have a ton of problems with '03 accord displays going out. Don't let a dealer charge you for it. When you go in to have a new one ordered, make sure you write down the little number printed in white next to the display on the radio.

It's not important for you, it's important to order one. Honda radios get ordered through the Honda online network. I just know it's something they need to enter in. I think it's about four characters.
