What's the sub? DVC?  If so, wire an amp to each coil, making sure that the impedance load on each amp is okay and that the power into each respective coil is at or below its thermal limit.  For instance, a DVC sub rated at 600 watts RMS will allow 300 watts to each coil.  Read the sticky subjects on this forum pertaining to your question.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

That way will probably work, but I am looking more for a way to run a master and slave amp, were the +wire will go to one amp and the -wire will go to the other amp.  Is this way possible, if so how would i wire the sub to the amp.

IIRC, some amps allow you to power a single voicecoil with multiple amps(called "strapping" amps I believe- I think some Kicker amps allow this), but I think something has to be special about the amps. Maybe someone w/ more knowledge will chime in...

bronco is right... The amp has to be CAPABLE of being strapped. Don't try it with just any amp, you'll blow it up.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
