For my '02 Grand cherokee I went out and bought the Harness adapter and proceeded to install the new head unit. The harness has layout is the following (minus the speakers).

Batt > Yellow

Acc > Red

Ant > Blue

allum/dimm > Orange

Ground > Black

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The headunit wiring harness is like this:

Batt > Yellow

Acc > Red

Ant . Blue

Amp Rem > Blue white

Brake > Pink

Tel mute > Brown.

Ground > Black

My problem is that I cant get the radio to turn on. If I touch the orange to the 2 yellow the thing only works when head lights are on . and what the hell do I hook the brake (pink) wire to Or brown tel mute..

red to red

yellow to yellow

black to black

blue capped (antenna not motorized)

pink capped

brown capped

I need some help with this one guys.

It seems to me that your constant wires (yellow) have no power to them. Check the fuses (check the fuse on the harness/in the back of the deck if it has one). The reason it works when you connect it to the orange wire and turn on the lights is because you're now feeding power from the light circuit.
The brake wire will connect to the wire at the brake switch that has 12 volts when the brakes are applied (sounds like a newer Eclipse multimedia unit?). The mute wire will be connected to the mute output if you have a phone kit installed.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
