Amp Repair

My sub amp stopped working a few weeks ago and upon opening it up and inspecting it, I found 4 of the MOSFET transistors had blown, along with one of the large resistors. Getting the resistor isn't an issue, however I'm having some trouble with the transistors. I've identified 3 of them as International Rectifier IRF6215 transistors and the other 1 as an IR IRF3415. I found these on ebay when I searched for the IRF6215, however the numbers on the 2nd and 3rd lines don't match those on the ones that blew. Mine have I<symbol>RO42D on the 2nd line and 18 <symbol> 98 on the 3rd. I couldn't find any IRF3415 on ebay and I'm not sure where else to look. Can I used the linked IRF6215's to replace mine that blew and does anyone know where to get one 3415? Thanks! Chris

IRF6215 is what counts. The other numbers are date codes and manufacturing codes which have nothing to do with the part number.Prepare your future. It wasn't the lack of stones that killed the stone age.

flobee, you rock! They don't have the 6215 in stock but it looks like they can get it. The resistors that blew are light blue, somewhat bigger than the small, standard, light brown resistors I'm used to working with and are measuring ~15.3 ohms. They're 5 band Brown, Green, Black, Gold, Brown which led me to a 15ohm with 1% tolerance (which is why I'm surprised they're reading 15.3 but whatever). How can I find out what wattage to get? I'm assuming 1/4watt but is there anyway to be sure? Thanks! Chris

They're 5 band Brown, Green, Black, Gold, Brown which led me to a 15ohm with 1% tolerance (which is why I'm surprised they're reading 15.3 but whatever). How can I find out what wattage to get? I'm assuming 1/4watt but is there anyway to be sure? I found these 15ohm 1% resistors but do I want carbon or metal film?Thanks!Chris
