No Wiring In Dash, 1967 volkswagen beetle

Coming from someone with some experience with VW's (I've had 3 beetles a 67 a 70 and a 72) The best thing to do is get your stereo wiring from the ignition harness which is super easy to get to as you just look under the dash or alternately you can go from the fuse box which is also under the dash there should be a radio fuse which is your ACC and the constant is tied into the dome light if I remember correctly. as for speakers you have a few options the door panels are very thin however you can cut out the fronts and surface mount 6 1/2" fairly easily with some grills on them. A few more options if you want a little better sound you can put components in the kicks with little effort and some glass. also in the rear trim panels (the ones next to the rear seats) you can put some 6 1/2" or 6x9 speakers and lastly you can make a fairly simple parcel shelf for some 6x9's hopefully this helps a little if you need anything else or some more info just ask. You should test the wiring to be sure: click. Instead of wire taps, I prefer to strip back about a half inch or so, and solder/tape my connections. Be sure to use an inline fuse close to your connection point. Yes, make your own ground.My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
