Hey guys

Im trying to install a JVC mp3 headunit in a 92 Daihatsu Applause. Everything seems to match up fine, power, ground, and speaker wires. When i start the car, the JVC head unit turns on and then it says straight away "See You" and turns off. Ive tried putting a CD in too and it turns on, then switches off straight away. I havent connected the ignition wire yet (red on teh JVC, Blue on the Daihatsu???) could this be the reason?

Ive connected the Yellow JVC power wire to the Daihatsu red power wire.

Ive connected the Black JVC earth wire to the Daihatsu black earth wire.

Ive connected the Grey/White JVC speaker wires accordingly to the Daihatsu Grey/White speaker wires.

Ive noticed that the earth wire on the Daihatsu is very thin compared to the earth wire on the Headunit adapter.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Thanks

Nick

I just love the term "earth"....just as it should be.daihatsu applause headunit -- posted image.

Did you purchase a harness adapter, as to NOT cut the factory radio harness? If you did, make sure all the connections are made. (all the wires that apply to your car, that are on the harness adapter)
