Hello, I am asking this question for my friend.  He wants to know what the difference is running the JBL 600.1 at 1 ohm and at 2 ohms.  I am aware that the output is supposedly the same at both 1 and 2 ohms.  However, is there a noticeable difference? Any help is appreciated. thanks.

I have a few JBL 1200.1's, which is the higher-power version of the 600.1.  I have run them at both 1 and 2 ohms and I can't tell the difference between the two.  I had them on the ociliscope and the power was the same for both impedances.  Sounds the same either way.

fakepete is correct you will get the same power from either 1 or 2 ohms. A way to test it is to get a voltage meter and set it to AC voltage.  Run it at 1 ohm Play a song at a certain high volume and see what the voltage peaks at. Then multiply that number by its self and then divide by the ohms (1) this will give you the RMS watts.  If you then run 2 ohms play the same song at the same volume and take the highest reading and multiply it by its self. Then divide by 2 (ohm) you will see you will get the same RMS
