Hey folks, buddy has an 01 F150 extended cab and wants more bass, actually wants some bass,(really has none to speak of).

Looking at the dimensions, he says he only has about 6 inches of height and doesnt want to move the back seat at all.  Was looking into getting some Tang Band 8's or Mpyre 65X. \

But now, Im wondering about shallow basket Subs.  Does anyone have any experience with them???  Will be putting Two or whatever in the truck, one under each seat and building the box to span entire back, with amp in the middle..  Any suggestions????

There have been a few threads on this topic....general consensis. It's a bandaid at best. NO real sub bass. All the shallow subs are (8's or 10's) less than 3 inches deep. They all work about the same. Pick the one that fits the budget, and make the box as BIG as you can.

Thanks for the input, well, would you suggest the Mpyre or the Tang band then in a decent size box??? Never personally heard the Mpyres but they have good reviews from a few different guys on here.

I bought an Elemental Designs SQ10 for my dads Silverado extended cab and I listened to it in my explorer an it sounds awesome...for 70 dollars SHIPPED and a 5 YEAR WARRANTY and LIFETIME CUSTOMER SERVICE you can't beat it.
a couple of these will sound awesome with 400 watts of good clean power
This sub can get low even in a small sealed box...its what it was designed for..small sealed enclosures
