amplifier brands overview

Hi all,

Basically I am looking at different brands of amplifiers and was wondering which brands the more experienced folks like to use. What brands do you feel are the best? and what do you feel is the best bang for the buck? I realize these questions may be to generalized to answer but thought I would throw it out here anyway since I was unable to locate anything through the forum search. As always, thanks for any input.
